The previous owners of this 1955 Mercury Montclair purchased it in 1989 with 14,401 original miles on the odometer and immediately set out on a frame up restoration project. The body was treated to two tone paint - Alaska White with Glen Lake Blue metallic accents to tie into the interior colors. The engine and transmission were pulled and the transmission was rebuilt. The heads were removed and rebuilt with hardened valve seats installed to accommodate the use of unleaded fuel. The engine was resealed and painted in factory yellow. All bushings, bearings and seals were replaced along with all suspension and brake components. All bumpers were beautifully re-chromed along with many other trim pieces. The stainless steel trim was polished to a high luster and installed. The aftermarket Canadian Continental kit was also added at this time. The undercarriage was painted in trim black and the exhaust in Eastwood factory grey.
The car was driven around 3,000 miles between 1990 and 2014 when the owner passed the car to his son who promptly stored it in his climate controlled garage.
