This 1978 Dodge Power Wagon pickup with the Adventure Package is
powered by its rebuilt original 318ci V8 engine completed by PDL
Performance Repair in Choteau, MT. The engine rebuild included a
.030 overbore, crankshaft turned .010/.010, new cam bearings, soft
plugs, oil pump, timing chain, piston rings, rod and main bearings,
thermostat, original cylinder heads with a three-angle valve job,
RV camshaft, new lifters, aluminum 4-barrel intake manifold and an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. Power is delivered through the
original 4-speed manual transmission and original transfer case
with full-time four-wheel drive, supported by a new clutch disc,
pressure plate, throw-out bearing and pilot bushing. The chassis
and suspension were refreshed with brand-new suspension components,
new shocks, a complete front-end rebuild, new axle seals
throughout, a new steering pump and a new steering gearbox. Braking
components include new front brake pads and rotors, along with
rebuilt rear drum brakes. The exterior received fresh paint and
undercarriage refurbishment, and the truck retains OEM wheels
fitted with new 31-inch off-road tires. Other updates include a new
heater core and a factory block heater. Additional features include
a new wood bed with polished fasteners and hardware. The
restoration was completed in Scottsdale, AZ, by Melrose Mechanic in
