This custom 1937 Chrysler Royal is powered by a supercharged
5.7-liter Chrysler HEMI V8 engine paired with a 5-speed automatic
transmission. Built over a five-year period by Grubbs Motorsports,
the car retains its full original steel body, which has been
reinforced and boxed for modern performance. Chassis upgrades
include a triangulated four-link rear suspension, Mustang II front
suspension, stainless control arms, adjustable Strange coilovers,
and a Ford 9-inch rear end with Moser axles and a 3.50
posi-traction differential. Stopping is handled by polished Wilwood
14-inch disc brakes with a concealed under-car booster and master
cylinder. Extensive metal and bodywork preceded application of a
custom PPG Deep Maroon finish by Michael Grubbs. The interior was
handcrafted by Eddie Wheelhouse and features Italian leather
upholstery, custom door panels and a hidden modern audio system
with phone connectivity, twin amplifiers and a subwoofer. A custom
dash built by Grubbs Motorsports houses Dakota Digital VHX gauges,
and climate control is provided by a Vintage Air system with custom
billet outlets. The car rides on Billet Specialties wheels wrapped
in Nitto tires.
