1953 Mercury M100 Pickup For Sale
This 1953 Mercury M100 pickup blends classic Canadian truck styling
with tasteful custom touches and dependable hot rod underpinnings.
It was refurbished and modified under previous ownership with a
focus on drivability and individuality.
Finished in a striking deep purple paint, the body retains its
original lines while adding custom flair through color and
detailing. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in pink vinyl and cloth
upholstery over bucket seats sourced from a Plymouth Laser. A
body-color dashboard and door panels complement the exterior, while
an Alpine CD stereo, power-adjustable driver's seat, VDO
instrumentation, and a custom-fabricated center stack bring modern
comfort to this vintage hauler.
Under the hood, power comes from a 350ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a
TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain is backed
by a Chevrolet Monte Carlo rear axle with a 2.73 gear ratio. A
mid-1970s Pontiac Firebird front subframe and suspension setup were
fitted, bringing independent front suspension and power-assisted
disc brakes, while the rear retains drum brakes. Long-tube headers
feed a dual exhaust system with polished trumpet-style tips, giving
this Mercury a distinctive hot rod tone.
Additional equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, Sylvania
halogen headlights, a C3 Corvette steering column, and a functional
heater.
This custom Mercury M100 combines classic 1950s design with proven
GM mechanicals for an appealing mix of nostalgia, comfort, and
reliability - a unique pickup ready for local shows or weekend
cruising.
