This custom 1968 Chevrolet Camaro was originally delivered as an
Arizona-based base-model coupe and was subsequently restored to SS
396 specifications. The original 396ci configuration was upgraded
to a 454ci big-block V8 engine, mated to a Muncie M20 4-speed
manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle equipped with 3.73
posi-traction. The powertrain is supported by power steering and
power disc brakes. A full rotisserie restoration was completed in
2025 with approximately $100,000 invested, including complete
disassembly, chassis and suspension refurbishment, driveline
installation, exterior refinishing and a full interior restoration.
The exterior is finished in Tuxedo Black and incorporates SS
396-style components, including SS-style front and rear spoilers
consistent with period-correct presentation. The interior features
a black bucket-seat configuration with a factory-style center
console housing a tachometer and auxiliary gauges. SS 396-style
trim and equipment were incorporated throughout the build to
reflect correct appearance while benefiting from the increased
displacement of the 454ci big-block.
