It's arguably one of the best-looking iterations of the Mustang
ever to roll off the assembly line, and it greets the present in
great shape. Yep, this 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is an absolute
head turner. It's dressed in its original Dark Moss Green with the
white accenting C-stripes that became a hallmark feature for the
upper-tier GT Mustangs of this era. Its body panel alignment will
pass muster even at close range, its collection of chrome is in
good form, and a session at the hands of a skilled detailer will
take its already stellar curb appeal to an even higher level. That
quad tip chrome exhaust peeking out from below the rear bumper
creates an unbeatable view from the back.
First-generation Mustangs like this one included interiors that
conveyed a driver-centric nature while still offering plenty of
room for comfort, and this one is an outstanding representative of
its class. Redressed in tan vinyl that pairs nicely with the
exterior color, the front buckets and rear bench seat have retained
their shape well and sit over an expanse of carpeting that's really
in great shape. Up front, the dash area is yet another high point
for this vintage Ford, with its assembly of factory gauges clear
and readable, and a straight, uncracked dash pad spanning its
width. At the center, a retro AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth
connectivity offers you a wealth of audio options, and the air
conditioning is blowing strong and cold for comfortable driving
throughout the year.
The running condition of this GT is downright impressive. It's
powered by a 351-cubic-inch Windsor V8 that has garnered a
well-deserved reputation for performance over the years. Fed by a
4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, and the exhaust note emanating from
the Flowmaster mufflers has a satisfyingly deep tone. Power brakes
front disc brakes provide great stopping power and the power
steering is surprisingly precise. At the front of the engine
compartment, an upgraded aluminum radiator pairs with an electric
fan to keep operating temperatures in check. A glance at the
underside will convince you that this classic is very sound and
well-positioned for plenty more miles of enjoyment.
