GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this 2013 Chevrolet Camaro
ZL1, finished in deep black and backed by one of the most
aggressive factory performance packages Chevrolet has ever
produced, now taken several serious steps further. The widebody ZL1
stance, factory aero, and functional carbon hood insert give this
Camaro a menacing and purposeful look that still feels clean and
well executed. The black exterior pairs perfectly with the ZL1 trim
and gives the car a presence that looks just as good sitting still
as it does ripping down the road.
Under the hood is no longer a stock supercharged 6.2L. This car is
now powered by a true 427 cubic inch LS based stroker engine built
specifically for boost and E85. The block has been bored to 4.125
inches and paired with a forged Callies Compstar 4340 crank,
Compstar H beam rods, and Wiseco flat top forged pistons, all
balanced and assembled with boost gapped rings and upgraded
internals throughout. A BTR Stage 3 PDS torque cam with supporting
valvetrain components gives the engine strong mid range punch while
still behaving well under boost. Airflow is handled by a Nick
Williams 103mm drive by wire throttle body, making this setup well
suited for serious power. Realistically, the rotating assembly and
build quality put this engine in the realm of 900 plus horsepower
capability with the right supporting mods and tune. Power is sent
through a 6 speed manual transmission and this example has recently
received a brand new built engine, transmission, and clutch, making
it mechanically fresh and built to be driven.
Inside, the cabin features black leather with red stitching and
retains the factory ZL1 performance focused feel. Heated seats,
heat and air conditioning, Boston Premium audio, and ZL1 specific
interior touches including the factory ZL1 trunk liner are all
present. It is comfortable enough for cruising but still feels
tight and driver focused when you lean into the throttle and let
the car do what it was built to do.
This Camaro carries a rebuilt title, which is reflected in the
value, but it presents well and benefits from substantial recent
mechanical investment. With its forged 427 stroker engine, E85
capability, fresh drivetrain, desirable 6 speed manual, and
unmistakable ZL1 styling, this Camaro offers extreme performance
for the money. It is a brutal modern muscle car that delivers
massive torque, aggressive sound, and true driver engagement in a
package that stands far above a stock ZL1.
