This 1960 Volkswagen Beetle convertible is powered by a flat-4
engine mated to a manual transmission. Mechanical and assembly
components were restored with extensive New Old Stock (NOS)
Volkswagen parts, including correct factory Kamax bolts and
hardware, a painted fuel tank, matching spare tire and wheel, and a
restored factory jack in its holder. Additional equipment includes
a correct four-tab hood, NOS German running boards, a factory
convertible decklid with the rain tray in place and a Wolfsburg
radio. The car is finished with NOS body trim rather than
reproduction pieces. Interior materials include Honey Brown
square-weave wool with cloth piping imported from Germany, and the
property-correct stretch wool headliner fitted to factory
specification. The convertible top was custom-stitched by a retired
upholsterer known for concours work, built from scratch rather than
an aftermarket kit. This Volkswagen has been shown at concours
events.
