When it comes to rare and refined drop-top sports cars throughout
the history of the autoverse, this 1991 Buick Reatta Convertible
may not be the first car that comes to mind, but after one look at
this sleek roadster, it's clear that maybe it should be. This
final-year model comes decked out in its believed original Bright
Red paint and complementary manual black convertible top, this
bodacious Buick boasts a mere 34,563 actual miles on its odometer.
As if that's not enough to pique your interest, this car is one of
an unbelievable 305 Reatta convertibles made for the 1991 model
year, making it not only one of the scarcest Buicks in the
company's history, but one of the rarest production vehicles ever
made.
Inside, we find a posh factory Slate Grey leather interior. A
center console separates a pair of plush power bucket seats, while
a two-spoke power-assisted steering wheel sits just ahead of a
trick-looking vacuum-fluorescent display (VFD), along with a
digital readout for speed and odometer/trip readings. Power
mirrors, locks, and windows, along with air-conditioning, cruise
control, remote keyless entry, power trunk release, and its factory
AM/FM/Cassette player, offer all of the modern amenities anyone
could ask for in the early 1990s.
Under the hood, we find a 3.8-liter overhead-valve 3800-Series V-6
engine, which, when properly maintained, is nearly bulletproof.
From the factory, this pushrod motor pumped out about 170
horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. That power is routed
through a four-speed overdrive automatic transmission before being
sent out to the front-mounted transaxle.
