This 1965 Ford Mustang K-code fastback is powered by a factory
289ci High-Performance V8 engine rated at 271hp and backed by a
4-speed manual transmission. The engine includes heavy-duty main
bearing caps, nodular iron crankshaft, special timing chain and
gear set with counterbalanced oil slinger, forged connecting rods
with 3/8-inch bolts, heavy-duty harmonic balancer, solid-lifter
camshaft, and high-performance cylinder heads with spring pockets
and threaded rocker arm studs. Additional factory components
include free-flowing exhaust manifolds, dual-point centrifugal
advance distributor, manual choke carburetor with Ford engineering
numbers, and a chrome dress kit with 14-inch air cleaner, valve
covers, and radiator cap. The rear axle is a special 9-inch unit.
This Mustang is refinished in its original Rangoon Red over white
interior and includes a Rally-Pac 8,000rpm tachometer and clock.
Styled steel wheels and dual red line tires are fitted. It is
equipped with reproduction Arvinode mufflers and pipes. The vehicle
has undergone a comprehensive nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration.
