This custom 1974 Dodge Challenger is powered by a Wheeler Racing
Engines-built 440ci V8 engine stroked to 496ci and rated at 501hp,
paired with a matching-numbers A833 4-speed manual transmission
rebuilt by Passon Performance. The engine block, aluminum cylinder
heads and intake manifold are finished to match the exterior color.
The chassis features fully powder-coated front suspension
components with new MOOG bushings, offset upper control arm
bushings for increased camber adjustment, a 1-1/8-inch front sway
bar, .996 torsion bars, KYB shocks and an adjustable pinion
snubber. The rear structure incorporates welded subframe connectors
and factory-correct HEMI torque boxes installed to accommodate
increased output. Stopping power is provided by factory-style
braking components. Exterior features include Go-Mango Orange paint
over epoxy-primed rust-free body panels, a professionally installed
vinyl top, triple show-chromed factory bumpers relocated inward
using polished stainless hardware and polished Center Line Warrior
wheels fitted with Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR tires measuring
225/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear. Interior features include
comprehensive sound insulation using RaamMat and Ensoline Neoprene
layers, a new windshield, carpet, seat covers and headliner, along
with fully restored interior panels. Instrumentation consists of a
rebuilt Rallye dash cluster with a restored factory tachometer
featuring a new RTE circuit board, a quartz clock movement and an
ammeter with a bulkhead bypass incorporated for improved electrical
safety.
