What a great-looking classic pickup! This 1966 Chevrolet C10
Stepside boasts several attention-grabbing modifications that, when
combined with its already appealing vintage form, yield an
outstanding result. It's dressed in Butternut Yellow paint that
would no doubt make an impact at the local car show level, and as
you take a lap around it, you'll notice that the entire body is
free from any major blemishes that would otherwise detract from its
curb appeal. Clear glass surrounds the cabin, and if you glance in
back, you'll see that the countertop-style lining on the sides of
the bed really offers an effective contrast to the traditional wood
slats on its floor. Yep, this is one very cool vintage Chevy
truck.
Inside, you'll find a comfortable driving environment that
skillfully blends vintage and modern aesthetics. Front and center
is a pair of upgraded bucket seats covered in tan vinyl that
bracket a center console with a fold-down armrest, and the door
panels to each side are in clean condition. A woodgrain steering is
perched on the column and sports an aftermarket tachometer to keep
tabs on RPMs, and the gauges beyond it have surprisingly good
clarity. Above, the painted headliner shows nicely, while the
color-matched carpeting lining the floor is free of any stains or
heel marks.
Beneath the hood, the 377-cubic-inch V8 supplies plenty of power to
propel this classic. Equipped with a pair of Brodix heads and fed
by a Summit 4-barrel carburetor that pairs with an Edelbrock
Performer EPS intake manifold, the engine is in top form, firing up
promptly and idling smoothly, and its tan-painted valve covers
create a nice look in the compartment. The accompanying Saginaw
4-speed manual transmission shifts without issue, and the lever to
run through its gears sits within easy reach on the transmission
tunnel. Take your hands off the wheel and you'll be impressed by
just how straight this pickup tracks, while front disc brakes equip
it with fade-resistant stopping power.
