This 2012 Fisker Karma EcoSport is powered by dual rear-mounted
electric motors fed by a 20.1-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery
pack and supported by a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec inline-4
range extender that charges the batteries when depleted. The
series-hybrid drivetrain produces a combined 403hp and an
astonishing 959 ft/lbs of torque, delivering power to the rear
wheels through a limited-slip differential. Driving modes include
Stealth mode, operating on electric power only, and Sport mode,
utilizing both the electric motors and the gasoline engine.
Additional equipment includes 22-inch Circuit Blade aluminum
wheels, regenerative braking with Brembo brakes, a solar roof
panel, rearview camera, navigation system, heated seating and
touchscreen infotainment. The interior features eco-focused
materials, including reclaimed wood trim sourced from naturally
fallen trees and recycled elements. Instrumentation and controls
support both battery operation and engine-assisted driving.
