This custom 1936 Chevrolet convertible has been updated with a
modern powertrain and chassis while retaining period-inspired
styling. Power is supplied by a 350ci ZZ350 crate V8 engine
equipped with a new Edelbrock carburetor and showing fewer than 100
miles since installation, mated to a Turbo 350 automatic
transmission and a floor-mounted shifter. The chassis has been
upgraded with a Mustang II front suspension, new shocks and front
disc brakes to improve ride quality and braking performance. The
exterior is finished in Tangerine Orange and features extensive
custom body modifications, including shaved door handles, hidden
door hinges, smoothed cowl and body lines, molded taillights,
headlamps recessed into the fenders and a Packard-style grille.
Chrome wheels with wide whitewall tires are fitted and a functional
rumble seat with hidden hinges is integrated into the rear
bodywork. The interior is trimmed in Ivory leather and includes
bench-style seating, Stewart-Warner gauges, a Banjo steering wheel,
a chrome tilt steering column and air conditioning. The Resto-Mod
conversion and upgrades were completed by noted custom car builder
John Byers.
