This one-owner 1998 Panoz AIV roadster is one of 176 built for
public sale during the model's hand-assembled production run. Power
comes from its original 4.6-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine that has
been dyno-tuned by Swanson Performance using a Diablo chip and is
equipped with a Pro-M mass air meter and a BBK dual 62mm throttle
body, paired with a T45 5-speed manual transmission. Power is
delivered to the rear wheels through a Ford Motorsport 8.8-inch
rear differential with Traction-Lok and 3.73 gearing. Exhaust is
routed through a full stainless-steel system featuring stepped
headers, a 2.5-inch layout and MagnaFlow mufflers. The chassis is
equipped with the Cobra Brake Package utilizing drilled and slotted
rotors, measuring 13 inches in the front and 12 inches in the rear.
The Aluminum Intensive Vehicle construction uses aerospace-grade
alloy body panels formed via super-plastic forming technology,
creating a rigid and lightweight structure consistent with AIV
production. The exterior is finished in Star Mist Black, while the
interior is trimmed in black with carbon-fiber inserts and retains
factory lightweight roadster components, along with a 5.0 Pro Tower
shifter. 10,498 actual miles.
