This right-hand-drive 1968 Riley Elf custom beach car is powered by
an Austin-built A-series 4-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed
manual transmission. The engine and drivetrain were restored and
detailed during the comprehensive professional build, which
reconfigured the car into a Jolly-style beach car. The exhaust,
chassis and suspension components support the widened stance
created by steel-flared fenders designed to accommodate wide
Minilite-style alloy wheels with low-profile tires, and the braking
system remains consistent with the underlying Riley Elf
configuration. Exterior modifications included removal of the roof
and side windows, welded and cut-down doors, de-bumpered bodywork
and retention of the distinct Riley radiator grille, complemented
by high-quality chrome mirrors and headlamp rings. Interior
features include a lacquered wood dashboard, a wood-rimmed Mountney
steering wheel and custom wood rails surrounding the cockpit. Front
and rear seats are trimmed in stripe-pattern marine-grade canvas,
and the floors are fitted with natural coco-fiber mats. Additional
features include integrated map pockets in the side panels and a
matching surfboard. The build quality resulted in this
well-maintained vehicle being shown at the 2015 Amelia Island
Concours d'Elegance in the Beach Cars category.
