Now here's a '60s classic that's about as distinctive as they come.
This 1961 Buick Invicta Bubble Top features a contoured windshield
that projects forward from its surrounding frame, adding a sort of
"three-dimensional-plus effect" that pairs perfectly with its front
fenders, which have a nearly identical curvature. Dressed in
factory-correct Arctic White paint that's in top form, this is a
vintage ride that absolutely commands attention. Both its
assortment of chrome body trim and bumpers are in clean shape, and
that one-of-a-kind windshield is free of any damage, affording good
visibility and adding to this Buick's fresh appearance.
Climb inside, and you'll be surrounded by tastefully ornate,
two-tone vinyl upholstery that really presents nicely. Both the
split-bench front seat and the rear bench seat show no perceptible
wear, and they're bracketed by two-tone door panels that tie in
perfectly with both the seating and the carpeting below. The
factory-style gauges look surprisingly clear and work just as
intended, and the dash pad above is free from any serious cracks or
warpage. Plus, that electric clock perched front and center on top
is about as "retro cool" as it gets. Should you find yourself
behind the wheel during the hotter summer months, the Vintage Air
climate control system is in good working order to keep you and
your passengers comfortable.
Everything looks clean and tidy under the hood, where you'll find a
period-correct 401-cubic-inch V8 filling out the compartment
nicely. Professionally rebuilt a while back, it's looking sharp and
running great, fed by a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor and teaming
with a 2-speed automatic Dynaflow transmission that's known for its
seamless power delivery. With the featured dual exhaust leading to
a pair of Flowmaster mufflers, a tap on the gas pedal yields a
deep, rich note that's perfectly in keeping with this classic's
boulevard-commanding appearance. The custom front suspension offers
enhanced adjustability, as well as an aggressive, lowered stance,
while power steering and power brakes that position discs up front
make this cruiser easy to navigate and bring to a stop.
