For Sale at Auction: 2017 Ford Shelby GT500 in Scottsdale, Arizona

This 2017 Ford Shelby Super Snake widebody prototype is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine producing 750hp, featuring a Shelby-Whipple supercharger and Borla cat-back dual exhaust system, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This vehicle was hand-built by Shelby American in Las Vegas, NV, utilizing a 2015 Mustang chassis as a development platform to evaluate the performance potential of the sixth-generation Mustang architecture. Particular emphasis was placed on the integration and optimization of the model's independent rear suspension, marking the first time such a system was employed on a production Mustang-based Shelby vehicle. The chassis is equipped with a fully adjustable Shelby track suspension system by Cortex, Shelby American/Rogue Engineering tubular rear control arms, hardened wheel studs, and upgraded spindles and hubs engineered to support increased track width and performance demands. Braking capability is provided by Shelby by Brembo braking components, including red-painted calipers and grooved and vented rotors designed for improved thermal management and stopping performance. The widebody configuration incorporates newly designed front and rear body panels that extend the front track width by 2.5 inches and the rear track width by 4 inches, enabling fitment of wider wheels and tires. Shelby American 20-inch Super Snake wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 305 at the front and 345 at the rear. Exterior equipment includes carbon-fiber front and rear spoilers, integrated aerodynamic components associated with the Super Snake Package and carbon-fiber mirror covers. The interior remains consistent with Super Snake specifications and retains the standard configuration developed for the model. This concept vehicle was unveiled at the 5th Annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show on May 20, 2017. Identified by CSM No. 17SS0002C, it represents a one-off Shelby American prototype developed to explore enhanced handling, braking and chassis performance within the Super Snake program.
