When the normally quite staid Mercedes-Benz announced a series production 6x6 variant of the G-Class in 2013, off-roading enthusiasts around the world took note of what proved to be one of the most capable cross country vehicles on the planet. While based on the military 6x6 developed for Australia complete with portal axles, the civilian variant utilized the high-performance AMG motor and significantly more luxurious interior of the standard G 63 AMG. Despite weighing just over 9,000 pounds, the G 63 6x6 could still attain 60mph in 7.8 seconds.
