1962 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale - One Of The Finest Unrestored C1
Fuelie Examples LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1962
Chevrolet Corvette The final year of the first-generation Corvette
brought a series of subtle yet defining refinements. While the 1962
model retained the familiar body lines of the previous year, it
eliminated the stainless-trimmed side coves-ending the era of
contrasting two-tone paint schemes-and introduced bright rocker
panel moldings for the first time. Beneath the surface,
displacement increased from 283 to 327 cubic inches, ushering in
higher horsepower ratings across the lineup, topped by the
legendary RPO 582 Rochester fuel-injected engine, rated at a
thundering 360 horsepower. This 1962 Corvette convertible, complete
with its original Honduras Maroon paint over the original black
interior This Corvette represents one of the most remarkably
preserved, unrestored C1 Fuelies known to exist anywhere. Equipped
with the original numbers-matching 327/360hp fuel-injected V8, the
original numbers-matching 4-speed manual transmission, AM radio,
auxiliary hardtop, whitewall tires, and spinner wheel covers, this
car embodies the ultimate expression of performance and style for
the C1 generation. Beyond its specifications, the car's history is
truly unique. Purchased by its third owner in 1968, it remained in
his possession until 1993-stored not in a garage but inside his
house, where walls were later removed just to extract it for sale.
It was then acquired by a prominent NCRS Judging Chairman, who
verified the car's odometer reading of just over 50,000 miles and
confirmed the originality of its factory paint and interior. Over
the decades, this Corvette has become a benchmark example of
preservation, earning an extraordinary list of accolades: NCRS
Preservation Excellence 5-Star Bowtie Award - the highest NCRS
honor for unrestored originality, bestowed upon Corvettes of
exceptional educational and historical value. Two Bloomington Gold
Survivor Certifications - verifying its authenticity, integrity,
and untouched condition. Display at the National Corvette Museum
(1999-2003) - recognizing its significance as one of the most
original surviving Fuelies. Corvette authorities have praised this
car extensively. NCRS legend Roy Sinor, a former owner, described
it as "probably the best unrestored/unmassaged Fuelie in existence.
Likewise, longtime NCRS head judge Chuck Berge concluded, "The car
is totally unrestored and in excellent condition. It is one of the
finest examples of an original 1962 Corvette." Offered complete
with its NCRS 5-Star Bowtie Award, Bloomington Gold Awards, judging
sheets, NCRS Shipping Data Report, comprehensive ownership history,
titles, photos, and a 2-inch documentation binder, this Corvette
stands as a true reference-grade survivor. A once-in-a-lifetime
example, this Honduras Maroon Fuelie embodies the peak of
originality, preservation, and provenance-a true time capsule from
Corvette's golden era and one of the most significant unrestored
examples ever discovered. Additional Details: 1962 CHEVROLET
