A sporting version of the BMW 02 Series, the 2002 model was created at the behest of legendary car importer Max Hoffman and was introduced to the American market in 1968 featuring a more powerful 2.0-liter M10 engine. This 1974 example has been refinished in bright orange and features an upgraded Weber carburetor, Scorpion exhaust, a Nardi steering wheel, and aftermarket Panasport wheels. Cared for by three previous owners, this classic BMW 2002 is now being offered for auction by its owner/seller out of Columbus, Ohio.
The vehicle is in great running condition. Driven weekly by the owner throughout the spring, summer and fall. Rebuilt alternator, new battery, head gasket and brakes within the last year.
