Casting-Frame Part#016117: This frame casting number is associated with a 1950’s era AJS Model 18 (500cc). *Year Model Estimated-Further Research in-Progress*
Engine Stamp 51-18-17768 (see photo): "51" prefix denotes the 1951 model year, a common practice for AMC motorcycles where the first two digits indicate the production year. "18" indicates the AJS Model 18, a 500cc single-cylinder motorcycle. “17768” is the sequential serial number within the 1951 Model 18 production run. This high number suggests it was produced later in the 1951 season, possibly toward the end of the year. *Likely Donor Replacement Engine or Case-Further Research in-Progress*
Condition: As-Raced Complete Restoration. Known as operational and was ridden prior to long-term indoor static display, not currently operational.
