I don’t think there’s a better buy in the sports car market than a C6 Corvette, especially when it’s a Z51 6-speed model. You get a great looking car with the perfect combination of performance and practicality, without the ridiculous maintenance requirements or $500 oil changes of some comparable models. This Corvette was purchased new from Steve Foley Chevrolet in Northbrook, IL and shows just 34k miles (about 1,600 per year). The car has a clean accident-free history and remains stock with the exception of a Corsa cat-back exhaust and fender vent grilles. It has an unmistakable Corvette look and stands out clearly with its Victory Red paint. This one also has the optional polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels which reveal the larger cross-drilled brake rotors of the Z51 performance package. Tires are excellent Michelin Pilot Sport 4S models from 2023 with P245/40ZR18 fronts and P285/35ZR19 rears.
There is plenty of curb appeal, but there's more to a Corvette than just looking good. This is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission with the lower Z51 ratios along with a 3.42 rear axle ratio. Additional Z51 equipment includes the previously mentioned special brake rotors along with better springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars plus oil coolers for the engine, transmission, and power steering. It all makes for a great performing Corvette right from the factory.
The black leather interior includes all the usual Corvette goodies including dual 6-way power seats, active handling, traction control, and a tilt / telescoping steering column. The instrument cluster is clean and uncluttered with all the basics available at a glance, while the sound system and dual climate control offer straightforward controls without a bunch of menus to scroll through. There is also a privacy shade for the rear compartment along with a parcel net to keep things from sliding around. Both keyfobs are present along with a window sticker and the owner’s manual.
This is a great chance to buy a low-mileage C6 Corvette with the desirable Z51 package and a proper 6-speed manual transmission. Further, it is priced at a fraction of its inflation-adjusted MSRP of more than $80,000. It brings the look and performance of a much more expensive exotic but without all the maintenance headaches, all while delivering exceptional reliability almost 30 mpg on the highway.
