It represents a pivotal model that was the first to bring the "half
truck, half car" configuration to fruition, but this 1961 Ford
Ranchero Restomod has a lot more going for it than a storied
heritage. Dressed in high-impact Purple Metallic paint that really
shows well, this is a sharp-looking ride, still in possession of
its classic looks while also equipped with some outstanding
aftermarket modifications to amplify its curb appeal and equip it
with a driving experience that's truly hard to come by. It's fresh
off a very well-executed build that's left it with a precise body
alignment and crystal-clear glass, and the custom airbrushed
"Ranchero" lettering on its tailgate is a great added touch.
The interior has been thoroughly reimagined while still retaining
an authentic vintage appearance. Front and center is a plush and
comfortable gray vinyl bench seat with contrasting piping, nicely
complemented by the darker carpeting that lines the floor below. An
aftermarket steering wheel is perched on a tilting column that
positions it right where you need it, and the instrument panel just
beyond it features an assembly of white-faced AutoMeter gauges
encircled by a chrome bezel. The added climate control system
ensures that you can enjoy this classic throughout the year, while
an AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity
provides all the audio options you need during your journeys.
As striking as it is to simply stare at, this vintage Ford is also
configured to offer a great experience behind the wheel. It's
powered by a 302-cubic-inch V8 that's equipped with aluminum heads,
a roller cam, and roller rockers to minimize performance-sapping
friction and is fed via a FiTech electronic fuel injection system
perched on an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. The engine pairs
with a 4-speed automatic 4R70W transmission with an overdrive gear
to keep RPMS down at highway speeds. An aftermarket suspension that
includes an RRS coilover up front provides a refined ride while
adding precise power rack and pinion steering, while the modified
TCI four-link suspension in back teams with a sway bar to properly
direct the engine's output to the asphalt while minimizing body
roll around corners.
