For Sale at Auction: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Scottsdale, Arizona

This custom 969 Plymouth Road Runner is powered by a crate 528ci performance HEMI V8 engine topped with a Keith Black dual-quad marine intake manifold and two 650cfm Edelbrock Thunder AVS carburetors. Completed after a professional 3,500-plus-hour restoration by the award-winning Muscle Car Restorations of Chippewa Falls, WI, the original B-body coupe unibody was chemically dipped to remove corrosion, then fitted with replacement rear quarter-panels and a trunk pan, along with expert custom fabrication work. Additional engine upgrades include ceramic-coated TTi headers, a 3-inch exhaust system with electric cutouts by Doug's Headers, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, a Milodon 7-quart oil pan and a Moroso oil accumulator. Power is sent through a Keisler 5-speed transmission with a long-handled pistol-grip shifter to a performance Dana 60 rear end. The suspension features reproduction torsion bars up front with QA1 adjustable coilovers, while the rear utilizes reproduction leaf springs with CalTracs traction bars and QA1 adjustable coilovers. Braking is handled by SSBC Force 10 disc brakes at all four corners, and the stance is finished with American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The exterior wears PPG Dark Gray Metallic basecoat/clearcoat with custom hand-painted Road Runner insignias, and the interior was restored by Legendary with custom reed-grain upholstery, fresh foam and hardware, complemented by a Just Dashes-refinished dash pad and headrests. AutoMeter instrumentation monitors key vitals with a 10,000-rpm tachometer, ammeter, coolant temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge, and a three-spoke Grant steering wheel replaces the original. A modern AM/FM sound system with a trunk-mounted CD changer was integrated by Antique Automobile Radio while retaining the original thumbwheel-style head unit appearance. Offered for the first time since completion by Muscle Car Restorations, it includes hundreds of restoration photos documenting the build, magazine features and a custom car cover.
