This 1964 Pontiac Strato Chief is a Canadian-market example that was reportedly sold new in Edmonton, Alberta, and spent time in North Carolina and Kentucky prior to its 2021 acquisition. Based on the exterior design of the Pontiac Catalina, the Canadian Strato Chief model made extensive use of Chevrolet-sourced chassis components and running gear. This example is finished in blue over blue vinyl upholstery and powered by a 409ci / 425 hp Chevrolet V8 paired with a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Features include dual carburetors, a heater, a Pontiac tachometer, Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges, a dual-snorkel air intake housing , chrome valve covers, and tubular exhaust headers feeding into a dual exhaust system. The body-color steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 14″ BFGoodrich Silvertown tires.A monochromatic blue color scheme is carried throughout the interior, including the dual bench seats seat, door panels, and dashboard. Additional features include a floor-mounted shifter, a pair of Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges mounted at the base of the dashboard, and lap belts for the front occupants. The car is a factory radio delete. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a Pontiac tachometer, and readings for battery charge and fuel level. Approximately 31k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer.
