Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this numbers matching 1978
Camaro in fantastic driver condition with only 88,855 original
miles. This Camaro looks stunning, runs great, and is an excellent
driver. The car has great lines and one can even see how clean the
car is underneath in the many photos of the underside. This is an
excellent opportunity to own a classic Camaro that is ready to be
used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this
car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to
come as these second-generation F-Body Camaros are appreciating
fast and the market on them is red hot right now.
The Carmine (77) over Carmine (74R) interior is a very rare and
beautiful color combination that looks stunning on the car. It is
also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes
on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. Besides the correct
paint and trim codes this Camaro is "numbers matching" meaning the
engine in the car is the original unit that was installed new at
the factory in Norwood, OH. The last six digits of the VIN, 611228,
are stamped on the engine pad verifying it as the original
engine.
The very low original mileage is verified not only by the condition
of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad,
that shows the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the
photos, video, and information in this ad to get a true sense of
how clean, nice, and original this Camaro really is.
As a side note, this Camaro is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Camaro, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Carmine (77) exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one
can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine,
and smooth finish. The chrome and other bright work look great with
a brilliant finish and no pitting. The chrome rally wheels are in
amazing condition with a bright finish and no curb rash. The
GoodYear Eagle GTII raised white letter tires have plenty of tread
left and are correctly sized 235/60R15. There are no major
imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the
photos. There are some spots in the paint around the car, some
spots on the hood scoop, and other tiny blemishes that were too
faint to show up in the photos, but nothing that is noticeable from
about five feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the
underside, the car is clean underneath and we have not seen rust
issues. We have included specific photos of the spring perches,
rockers, lower quarter panels, upper area of the trunk below the
rear window, and other areas most prone to rust on a
second-generation Camaro to show how nice this car looks.
Interior
The Carmine (74R) interior of the Camaro is in wonderful condition.
The seats look just as great in person as they do in the photos
with no rips, split seams, or excessive wear. The seats are not
overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver
gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the gauge
lenses are clear. The carpet is in great condition with no major
stains, rips, or holes, just some small signs of wear from over the
years. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The
door panels are in great condition overall and fit well to the
doors. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash is a bit
warped, which is a typical issue on this ear Camaro. The dash has a
carpeted cover so this issue is not very noticeable. The radio
sounds great and gets good reception. Please note that both seat
belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on second
generation Camaros and an issue many buyers do not think to check.
The original package tray is not warped and in excellent condition.
The headliner is in excellent condition and not sagging at all. The
trunk is clean and nicely detailed.
Camaro interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the
excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its
life and another great verification of the very low original
mileage.
Mechanical
This Camaro seems to be in great mechanical condition. The numbers
matching engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles
smooth. This Camaro is a nice driver that feels great on the road
and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the
car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through
all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the
car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do
not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well
throughout the power band. This Camaro has plenty of power and is
quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and
detailed as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do the wipers, exterior lights, interior lights,
dash lights, oil light, fasten seat belt light, and hazard lights.
The blower for the heater and air conditioning works on all speeds.
The A/C blows cold and the compressor can be seen engaging properly
in the video. All of the gauges work. Not enough can be said as to
how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1978 Camaro is in excellent driver condition. The low
mileage, the originality, and the beautiful color scheme make this
car particularly desirable and hard to duplicate. Nice examples of
the second-generation Camaros like this are extremely difficult to
find and draw a huge premium in the current market. Numbers
matching and originality is extremely important in Camaro pricing
and this car is very correct. Cars like this are the Barrett
Jackson stars of the future.
This Camaro always gets a ton of attention driving down the road.
It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by
its previous owners. The prices of second-generation Camaros have
increased drastically over the past years, especially for
exceptional examples like this car. They are secure and wise
investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle
for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with
minimal effort.
Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car in such great
detail with so many photos and a video as well as giving you all of
the other numbers/options. As stated above, numbers matching is
extremely important in Chevrolet pricing and will become even more
important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more
rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing.
Any prospective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other
sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he
or she makes a purchase.
