This 1993 Jaguar XJR-S is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine
producing approximately 318hp, paired with an automatic
transmission. Developed by JaguarSport, the joint venture between
Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the XJR-S received extensive
performance and chassis upgrades over the standard XJS, including
revised suspension tuning, Bilstein shocks, stiffer bushings and
modified steering calibration. This example is one of four
factory-prepared Silver Frost XJR-S coupes built specifically as
press vehicles for 1993 media promotion alongside the Jaguar XJ220.
These cars were finished in a distinctive metallic Silver Frost
color that was not offered as a retail customer option. Press
documentation and original media materials accompany the vehicle.
The Silver Frost press cars were used by JaguarSport for evaluation
and feature coverage and appeared in major automotive publications,
including MotorTrend and AutoWeek. Unlike standard production XJR-S
models, the press cars were not equipped with rear decklid Jaguar
or V12 emblems and did not receive the numbered Asprey plaques
fitted to customer-delivery vehicles. Production of
U.S.-specification 1993 Jaguar XJR-S models totaled approximately
100 units, split evenly between coupes and convertibles, with most
finished in Signal Red or Jet Black. The Silver Frost press cars
represent a distinct subset produced exclusively for promotional
use. It remains largely factory original, with the exception of a
Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator and Ford Bosch fuel injectors. The
car has been sparingly driven and shown at Jaguar Clubs of North
America events. CARFAX shows Not Actual Mileage title issued on
09/08/2005, 12/27/2005, 03/29/2006 and 05/17/2006.
