This 1967 Sunbeam Tiger Mark II convertible is powered by a rebuilt
289ci V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and is one
of just 536 Mark II examples produced. Purchased new on March 9,
1968, by Bruce Shaffer of Gardena, CA, from Highland Park Imports
in Los Angeles, this Tiger has remained a lifelong California car
and retains extensive documentation, including the original Bill of
Sale, owner's handbook, workshop manual and period correspondence.
The engine has only test miles since the rebuild, and the car has
benefitted from a comprehensive three-year restoration. Finished in
its factory Carnival Red exterior, the car includes its original
removable hardtop, along with a new soft-top. Exterior details
remain consistent with Mark II specifications and the car has been
carefully preserved in a climate-controlled Southern California
collection. The interior is finished in correct black trim and has
been upgraded with Vintage Air climate control and power steering.
The car is accompanied by its jack, factory tools and multiple
awards, including the Rootes Trophy and "Most Popular Sunbeam
Tiger" recognition at the Tigers United IV meet, documenting its
longstanding history within the Sunbeam Tiger community.
