This 1961 International Metro Snap-On Tools van re-creation is
affectionately known in the car community as "Snappy." It began as
a solid and original Metro van body that received a professional
brand-new, fresh restoration, with only shakedown miles driven
since it was completed. This Metro is powered by a 220ci straight-6
engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. It was also
upgraded with a modern alternator, new brakes and all the gauges
operate as they should. It retains its original-style six-bolt rims
with wide whitewall tires with the proper hubcaps. This Metro has
all-new glass, all the weatherstripping and seals are new, and the
trim and assorted hardware parts were restored. It was
professionally painted in the correct red and white Snap-On paint
scheme and completed with the original-style vintage Snap-On
exterior livery. It features an accurate and period-correct walk-in
rear display area that was outfitted with Vintage Snap-On tools,
cabinets and equipment. The floor of the Metro was finished with
maple hardwood, then adorned with an assortment of Snap-On
graphics, which are an exact re-creation of the progressive changes
to their company brand and logo over its 105-year history. The sale
includes a full-size Snap-On salesman mannequin to be used for
display.
