1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible - 1 of Only 67 Factory
4-Speeds Built, Frame Off Restoration LMC is very proud to offer
for sale this 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible Few muscle cars
combine rarity, power and luxury quite like the 1970 Buick GS 455
Stage 1 Convertible. As one of only 67 factory four-speed Stage 1
convertibles ever produced, this example represents the pinnacle of
Buick performance - an ultra-low-production, torque-heavy sleeper
that stands among the most desirable GM muscle cars of the era. The
numbers-matching Stage 1 455 ci V8 was underrated at 360 horsepower
but delivered more than 500 ft-lbs of torque, thanks to its 10.5:1
compression, high-lift camshaft, four-barrel carburetor, big-valve
heads and unique Stage 1 performance calibrations. Adding to its
extreme desirability, this car was loaded with options from new,
including factory air conditioning - a rarely seen feature on a
four-speed Stage 1 convertible. Additional performance equipment
includes the heavy-duty "Firm Ride" suspension, Posi-Traction rear
end, and power front disc brakes. A meticulous, full frame-off
restoration has returned the car to show-quality condition,
complete with proper factory markings, beautifully detailed
undercarriage finishes, and striking Sherwood Green exterior paint
with a contrasting black bucket-seat interior and matching black
convertible top. Notably, the car features power-adjustable bucket
seat (front) with four-way adjuster - further enhancing its rarity
and comfort. Highly equipped for comfort and convenience, this GS
features power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, tilt
steering column, power front bucket seats, AM/FM radio with rear
speaker and stereo tape player, speed alert, tinted glass, rear
window defoger, remote drivers mirror, carpet savers and handy
mats, tach and gauges, rallye steering wheel, alloy wheels with
trim rings and G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires. The original
owner who ordered this car must have checked every option box he
could. Making this Buick even more special is full documentation.
Complete report from GS Historic Society documenting all factory
options as delivered by Buick, Previous GS National 1st place show
winner, Previous Buick Club Of America Gold award winner, complete
with judging sheets, ownership history, old classified ad when car
was listed for sale, copies of old titles, owners manual, and
consumer information supplement. Exceptionally rare, beautifully
restored, possibly the most loaded of any Stage 1 convertible, and
boasting one of the lowest production combinations of the entire
muscle-car era, this 1-of-67 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Four-Speed
Convertible - finished in Sherwood Green with black bucket seats -
stands as one of the finest examples of Buick's ultimate
performance offering. Additional Details: -
