This 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Open Top is one of 729 examples produced by AM General and represents the final model year of H1 production, as well as the only year offered with the Alpha Duramax turbo-diesel powertrain. It is powered by a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine paired with a 5-speed Allison automatic transmission and equipped with full-time four-wheel drive. The Alpha configuration introduced the Duramax and Allison combination. The drivetrain includes factory portal axles and a Central Tire Inflation System that allows the driver to adjust tire pressure from within the vehicle. The chassis retains factory suspension and drivetrain components, and braking is handled by factory braking equipment. The Open Top configuration features a removable original soft-top.
