This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette custom convertible is powered by a GM
stroker engine equipped with aluminum heads, roller internals, a
steel crank, an aluminum intake, a Holley dual-feed carburetor and
Jet-Coated headers feeding an exhaust system that exits at the
rear. Power is transferred through a Muncie 4-speed manual
transmission with a Centerforce clutch. A heavy-duty Currie 9-inch
rear end with 4.10 gearing is installed, and braking is provided by
oversized Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. An electric
power-steering assist unit has been added. The interior features
new leather seat covers installed in the correct original style,
along with rebuilt factory gauges, including the in-dash
tachometer. An aftermarket stereo is also installed, and the
battery has been relocated to the trunk. The exterior is equipped
with a new black soft-top and a color-matched hardtop, along with
chrome and stainless components and new factory-style green-tinted
glass. The vehicle rides on 20-inch rear and 18-inch front aluminum
wheels paired with high-speed radial tires.
