This 1932 Ford Highboy custom roadster was built by Fat Jack and
took four years to complete. Power comes from an Ed Donovan 417ci
aluminum HEMI V8 engine equipped with twin Vortech centrifugal
superchargers, ported and polished Hot Heads and open headers. The
engine produces a staggering 1,100hp. The engine is backed by a
B&M equipped TH350 transmission delivering power to a Halibrand
quick-change rear end. The body is made by Brookville Roadster,
renowned for their all-metal '32 bodies that are highly accurate to
the original Ford design. The professionally body-worked and
painted body sits on American Stamping chassis rails with all
plumbing routed inside the rails for a clean undercarriage. The
front suspension is a stainless four-bar assembly holding a Magnum
5-inch dropped axle, while the rear has A-bar upper and parallel
lower control arms. Reservoir Bilstein shocks with Hyperco springs
are fitted at each corner. Braking is handled with Wilwood 4-piston
calipers. This custom roadster rides on 15x6 and 15x14 pin-drive
Budnik billet wheels wrapped in Hoosier tires. The Ron Mangus
interior is trimmed in maroon leather with gray carpeting. This
roadster has garnered multiple awards, most notably the Steve
Archer Memorial Award and Best Undercarriage at the 2001 Grand
National Roadster Show. It was also featured in Street Rod Builder
in the July 2001 issue.
