This 1965 Backdraft RT4 roadster was completed by Vintage Motorsports in North Haven, CT in 2022 and has accumulated just over 200 miles. It is powered by a Ford Racing 460ci V8 engine that is rated at 575hp and 575 ft/lbs of torque. The engine is mated to a TREMEC T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission with a McLeod twin-disc clutch and a QuickTime steel bellhousing.
This RT4 was treated to a GT body and the extremely popular Ruby Red Pearl with Black Magic Stripes and Fender Stripes. A full blackout trim was included with Gloss Black.
The interior is finished in black with red stitching in a diamond pattern that covers the seats, door panels, the transmission tunnel and up the rear wall. Logos have been deleted from the seats. The carbon dash has been treated to a very limited VMS Aviator Dash Panel with custom switches, LEDs, and of course SpeedHut Instruments.
This RT4 features full coilover suspension in the front and rear. The IRS includes a Ford Super 8.8-inch differential, and steering is power-assisted, as are the 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The wheels are 18 inches and fitted with 335 rear tires.
Paint protection film has been applied to the complete nose, the doors, and the rear. All the lighting has been upgraded to LED including the headlights with DRL Halos. The radiator has been upgraded to aluminum for additional cooling and the aluminum fuel tank runs an internal fuel pump. Billet reservoirs under-the-hood provide ease of maintenance for all necessary fluids. The engine has been treated to a black out trim package. Headers and sidepipes with heatshields have been ceramic coated as well.
This Backdraft RT4 has been loaded with options over stock and has been completed by the premiere Backdraft Racing builder in the country.
