West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional
condition example of this 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi Spyder in the
beautiful and highly desirable color combination of original
factory 'Rossa Corsa' Ferrari Red exterior paint with original Tan
leather seats interior and with full and comprehensive recent
service history and boasting only 38K original miles - 1 of only
1,749 models built during a 3 year build by Ferrari from 1980-83.
Total Built: 1,749. Body Style: GTSi (GTS = Gran Turismo Spider,
the removable targa roof). Chassis Numbers: In the range of 31309
to 43079. RHD: 67 of these were right-hand drive. Note on "Spyder":
While "GTS" means targa, some rare, bespoke full convertible
conversions were made by companies like The Daytona Motor Company,
but the official production number refers to the GTS (targa) mode
The 308 GTSi was eventually succeeded in 1982 by the 308 GTS
Quattrovalvole, which featured a four-valve per cylinder head and
saw a higher production run of 3,042 units. The 308 GTSi fuel
injection system performed with much smoother power delivery than
the earlier models. Unfortunately, meeting anti-pollution
regulations meant that a few horses had to go, and the cleaner
engines were less powerful than the previous carburettor ones.
Aware of this situation and the need to re-establish its cars at
the top their class, Ferrari immediately began further development
of the V8 engine with the aim of increasing power whilst still
keeping exhaust emissions within acceptable levels resulting in the
desirable 3.0L fuel injected V8 engine matched to gated 5 spd
manual trans, PS, power 4 wheel disc brakes, PW, tinted glass
