Barn-Find 1936 Mercedes-Benz 290 Cabriolet CThis extremely rare and
original 1936 Mercedes-Benz 290 Cabriolet C has been under
the same gentleman's ownership since 1952 when he imported it from
Germany. He was drafted into the Korean War in 1950, but
was stationed in Germany after World War II. While he was stationed
outside of Frankfurt, he purchased this Mercedes-Benz 290 Cabriolet
C. After his tour was over, he utilized a perk the Army provided of
shipping one vehicle back to the United States. Once home, he drove
down from Massechusets to New York Harbor to pick up the car. When
he bought a farm in New Hampshire in 1959, he drove it up and
parked it in the barn where it has been parked
ever since. It remains in original (barn-find)
condition with the exception of some fresh tires to get it rolling
again. No restoration whatsoever has been done to the car
and no parts have been added. It even retains its army
license plate reading "US FORCES GERMANY 1952".
