This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was built with the 429 Super Cobra
Jet Drag Pack engine paired with a C6 automatic transmission and a
3.91 Traction-Lok rear axle. It retains its factory Ram Air
induction system and was ordered with an electric rear-window
defroster, making it one of only two SCJ Drag Pack cars
so-equipped, and the only one of the seven produced that was
factory-equipped with F70x14 raised-white-letter tires. Built in
September 1970 at the Dearborn Assembly Plant, this Mach 1 was
ordered by Ford Motor Company as an internal test vehicle.
Additional factory equipment includes power steering, power front
disc brakes, the Mach 1 Instrumentation Group and an AM/FM radio.
It was originally finished in Grabber Blue over black knit vinyl
Mach 1 bucket seats. Presented very close to its original
condition, the car is supported by extensive documentation
confirming its provenance and configuration as a one-of-one example
within the 429 SCJ Drag Pack production group. 5,393 miles (title
reads exempt).
