1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO COPO L/72 YENKOPossibly the most recognizable
and most desirable of the big block Camaros is the 1969 Yenko 427.
Racer and world-renowned Chevrolet performance dealer Don Yenko
sold these iconic machines, which followed his famous plan to take
an assembly-line Camaro and order with COPO 9561, a special
performance package including a L72 427/425hp engine, special
ducted hood, dual exhaust system, increased cooling capacity and
special suspension. Yenko Camaros also received COPO 9737 Sports
Car Conversion, which included a 140 mph speedometer, larger
diameter 13/16 front stabilizer bar and 15 x 7 Rally wheels with
E70 raised white lettered tires. Most Yenko cars were either Trim
code X11 or X44 cars (this car being an X44 car according to its
Body Trim Tag). These were base model cars ordered through the COPO
program to have high performance options and have no badging to
decipher what trim level they were. This Camaro Was delivered new
to Vito Rinaldi Chevrolet In Shenandoah PA - the same state Don
Yenko Chevrolet was located in.This 1969 Camaro is the recipient of
a complete professional nut and bolt body-off restoration with high
attention to detail. The exterior is finished in striking Code 76
Daytona Yellow basecoat clearcoat paint with Black Yenko SYC
decals, D80 Front and rear Spoilers and a Factory Style Cowl
Induction Hood. Riding on American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with
Goodyear F70-15 Bias-Ply Tires completing the factory Yenko style
appearance.The interior is finished in code 711 Black Vinyl and
shows like new. Freshly upholstered front and rear seats, door
panels, carpet and headliner look as good as the day they were new.
Front high rise bucket headrest seats, a Hurst Shifter with the
classic white pool ball Shift Knob, and a 140 MPH Speedometer
finish off the appearance of this gorgeous Camaro. The chassis of
this Camaro is simply a work of art. The floor boards are finished
in body color and cut and buffed to a show car finish. The subframe
and rear differential are finished in high gloss Black with all the
correct decals installed. The suspension is detailed to a better
than new appearance with High Gloss Black Control Arms, Springs and
steering components while the shocks are finished in the factory
correct grey with correct decals installed. The exhaust is an
upgraded Flowmaster System with Ceramic Coated Hooker Headers. The
Brake Lines and Fuel lines have all been replaced, with all correct
clips and screws.The Engine is a Counter Exchange Engine topped
with the correct Casting Number 3919840 cylinder heads with an
upgraded valvetrain with roller tip rockers and 7/16 Pushrods. A
factory style L72 Solid Lifter Camshaft, Winters Aluminum Intake
Manifold, Holley 4-Barrel Carburetor, Factory Power Steering, Power
Brakes and Chrome Valve cover with correct Yenko Decals and Factory
Chalk Markings all add to the car's correctness.Only 53 Test miles
since restoration.
