This 1964 Corvette Fuel Injected Tanker with the factory J56 brake
option is 1 of 3 cars believed to have come from Guaranty Chevrolet
of San Diego, California. This is the only known example finished
in Tuxedo Black with White Leather interior with these options.
Factory options include the J56 brake package, which included a
special dual-reservoir brake master cylinder and special metallic
brake pads, L84 fuel-injected engine, F40 special suspension, K66
transistorized ignition system, N03 36 1/2-gallon fuel tank, M20
manual transmission, N11 off-road exhaust system, P48 cast aluminum
knock-off wheels, T86 backup lights, U69 AM/FM radio, G81
Positraction rear axle with 3.70 ratio, A01 tinted glass. This Big
Brake Tanker had made its way to Kentucky and was purchased by Dick
Ferrando of D&A Corvette in Gillespie, Illinois. Dick is
one of the most respected Corvette restorers in the country and
purchased this Tanker for himself to restore and add to his special
collection. Dick would go on to restore his Tanker to concours
condition before selling the car to collector Mike Johnson of New
Mexico, who is a Tanker and rare Corvette collector. Mike would go
on to take the Corvette out on the national judging circuit and
achieve National and Regional Top Flight awards under his
ownership. Mike decided it was time to let the J56 Tanker go in
2023 when Joe Verrillo of Verrillo Motor Car in Clifton Park, NY,
purchased the Corvette. Joe would go on to achieve a Bloomington
Gold award and NCRS Regional Top Flight award at the NCRS Northeast
Regional Meet in Marlboro, Massachusetts. Tuxedo Black
