1968 Cadillac Eldorado For Sale
1968 Cadillac Eldorado finished in triple black - exterior paint,
vinyl top, and interior - fresh off a full frame-off restoration
completed by Velek Restorations in Ohio. The car was restored using
its original equipment, brought back to manufacturer
specifications, and has been driven approximately 100 miles since
completion. It remains exceptionally clean inside, outside, and
underneath.
Power comes from Cadillac's original 472 cubic-inch V8 paired with
the factory Turbo 425 3-speed automatic. The powertrain was fully
overhauled during the restoration, retaining the correct
front-wheel-drive layout that made the '68 Eldorado so distinctive.
This drivetrain, adapted from the Oldsmobile Toronado, gave
Cadillac a radical departure from traditional American luxury
engineering and helped set the Eldorado apart during its era.
The suspension and braking systems were refreshed as part of the
restoration as well. It now rides on new tires, and stopping power
comes from new front disc brakes and new rear drums. The car
carries its correct 2.94 gear ratio.
1968 marked a turning point for the Eldorado, transforming it from
a niche personal-luxury coupe into a true sales success. Its hidden
headlights, massive grille, and long, clean bodylines gave it
unmistakable road presence then and now. Cadillac positioned it as
the more powerful, more prestigious answer to the Ford Thunderbird
and Buick Riviera, and collectors today appreciate its blend of
rarity, innovation, and late-1960s opulence.
This example's fresh restoration, triple-black presentation, and
adherence to factory specifications make it a standout among
surviving '68 Eldorados.
