1969 Mercury Cougar For SaleThis 1969 Mercury Cougar presents well
as a lightly updated and largely original example, showing a
believed-original 48,000 miles on the odometer. Under the hood sits
a 351 V8 topped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and a new intake
manifold. An HEI distributor provides modernized ignition, and the
engine exhales through long-tube Hooker headers feeding a true dual
exhaust system with Flowmaster FX mufflers.Power is sent through an
FMX 3-speed automatic transmission to an 8-inch posi rear end with
3.25 gearing. The suspension combines front coilovers with rear
leaf springs and recently replaced rear shocks, giving the car a
settled and confident ride. Braking is handled by front discs and
rear drums. A set of new tires is mounted on period-appropriate
14-inch Cragar S/S wheels. The exterior retains the classic Cougar
profile, complemented by a newer black vinyl top that remains in
great shape. Inside, the front seats have been freshly
reupholstered, and a new dash pad has been installed. The
instrument cluster has been updated with LED lighting for improved
visibility. Vintage Air A/C components are included; the system is
partially installed.Overall, this Cougar blends originality with
thoughtful upgrades, maintaining the look and character of
Mercury's late-'60s personal performance coupe with added
drivability enhancements.See the "videos" tab above this
