"At seven years old, the mechanical components of the S60 still
feel refined. Its chassis offers a sturdy assuredness worthy of the
Volvo badge, and the T5 powertrain is fully class competitive.
Additionally, the S60 benefits from top notch interior materials,
solid build quality, and some of the most comfortable front seats
available in any new car today." Car and Driver, Feb 2018
For consignment, a 2018 Volvo S60 T5 Inscription AWD 4 door sedan
with a title verified 7,518 actual miles. This is a two owner car
in like new condition and in Car and Driver's 2018 review, the car
achieved 32mpg on the highway and reached 60 mph in 6.1
seconds.
Exterior
With a stretched wheelbase and short overhangs, the Volvo focuses
on cabin comfort where sizable doors allow easy entrance and a
rounded roof over a steeply raked windshield creates an aerodynamic
profile. Here we have Luminous Sand Metallic as coverage and
Volvo's paint quality is very good and sweeps over seamless bumper
covers for a singular, monochromatic presentation broken only by
the distinctive grille and cross bar and two part tail lights that
leave the bigger part behind when the trunk is opened. The wheels
are 18-inch and retain their original 235/45R18 tires. The door
handles, shark fin antenna, and side mirrors all share the sand
color while chrome trim, contoured exhaust tips, and the coveted T5
moniker adorn the rear fascia. Imperfections are limited to a few
tiny scuffs and scratches along with some paint mismatch on the
driver's side and trunk lid.
Interior
Bone and black color the interior with light leather inserts on the
black plastic door panels with the driver's side and left rear
passenger door showing some usage that could likely be erased with
some deep detailing. The same applies to the driver's seat as the
light bone color shows dirt easily, but that doesn't take away from
the well constructed and comfortable seats, otherwise clean front
and back and all with Volvo's signature head restraints. An
ergonomic steering wheel fronts a handsome electronic instrument
cluster while a 7-inch screen is in the center and controlled by
buttons on the center console. The silver center stack waterfalls
down with Volvo's floating panel, housing the controls for the
AM/FM/CD radio with navigation and satellite as well as other
functional switchgear. At the base is the shifter, topped with
piano black and dressed in a black leather boot, and everything
presents in very nice condition. We have black carpet on the floor
but the headliners and pillars take on the bone color while the
flat trunk is finished in gray panels.
Drivetrain
A big plastic shroud covers most of the engine in this very clean
bay where we find the 2.0 liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder powerplant
producing 240 horsepower and mated to an 8-speed automatic
transmission. Power is routed through 3.33 final drive gears in
both front and rear axles.
Undercarriage
Super clean underneath as one might expect with minimal surface
rust and no errant fluids. Four wheel power disc brakes are
employed and a single exhaust still runs through its original
components on the way to the twin exhaust tips. Macpherson struts
are utilized on the front suspension and a multi link is found on
the rear independent system.
Drive-Ability
No surprises here, the fuel injected modern car starts right up,
hugs you in your seat, and propels this capable car onto the test
loop with decent acceleration, nice handling, and an overall
comfortable environment. All functions on board operate as intended
and the manual will come in handy to experience all of the bells
and whistles available. While Classic Auto Mall represents that
these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
Sure, we specialize in classic cars. But when you have a modern
commuter car with so few miles and in such great shape, it's a
pleasure to represent the car to our customers who might be looking
for a daily driver, especially one with all wheel drive. As we
write this, we're entering the winter and this year, wouldn't you
rather have AWD under your seat?
