"Yes, you can drive around town or attack your favorite mountain
apexes in a factory-original Porsche 550 Spyder. But for most
enthusiasts, it's not as easy as that. An honest-to-Stuttgart
Spyder, or one of its several Porsche sports and racing
derivatives, is seriously expensive. They're rare, too-yet another
reason they're expensive. Bending up that genuine aluminum
coachwork would certainly be a big Bad. So, like the Shelby Cobra,
the Spyder is one of those cars that makes a lot of sense as a
replica."- Motortrend
This Beck 550 Spyder, Beck identification # 550-000-578, showing
25,559 kilometers (15,881 miles) is finished in Silver-Blue
fiberglass body over a red leather interior with a black vinyl
convertible top. Power for this Spyder is provided by a mid-mounted
2276 cc air cooled flat-four motor mated to a Rancho Performance
Pro Drag 4-speed manual transmission which delivers power to the
limited slip rear differential.
This flat-four-cylinder motor runs smoothly and provides more than
ample power to push this 550 Spyder effortlessly though any S-curve
or straight away. The Silver-Blue paint shows well with only minor
imperfections (as illustrated in the photographs) and is accented
by red fender darts. The removeable drivers fairing with headrest
provides a race car appearance.
The interior with fixed bucket seats shows well with only minor
wear on the driver's exterior side bolster. The interior of this
Beck Spyder is upgraded with VDO gauges, wood steering wheel, and
drilled pedals.
This Beck Spyder is running on Vredestein Sprint Classic tires
mounted on silver painted steel wheels. The New Hampshire title
lists the car as a 1999 Porsche and is badged with a State of
Pennsylvania assigned vehicle identification number.
