Car FaxOne OwnerSouthern Vehicle since NewThe convertible variant
of Volkswagen's Golf MK1, the Volkswagen Cabriolet, has always been
in a class of its own. This model was produced in Osnabr?ck,
Germany at the Karmann manufacturing plant, and sports the original
white leather seats that mark it as a Boutique-trim level. The
white interior paired with a Tornado Red (color code LY3D) exterior
makes this Cabriolet identical to the Cabriolet - the one on the
cover of every pamphlet and the star of every Volkswagen daydream.
Purchased by Mr. Robin in 1987 at Gerland Jones Volkswagen in
Augusta Georgia, this Volkswagen has a sparkling clean CarFax that
shows this vehicle was accident free. Vehicle comes with the
original Georgia title proving the provenance of one owner. With
just over 48,000 miles and well maintained throughout its entire
lifetime, the next driver is inheriting 37 years of local history.
The documentation includes a 1988 original owner's manual and
maintenance guide. This Cabriolet is begging to be driven, top
down, through a blue summer day. The back bench seats turn this
sporty custom Cabriolet into driver for the whole family. A button
on the door car manually adjusts the mirrors, and each door sports
quarter glass. If you need the air conditioning with the wind
running through your hair, this Cabriolet has you covered. An
updated Sony CD Player and Radio has been installed where the
cassette player originally sat, but this Volkswagen still has the
original cigarette lighter and ash tray built into the dashboard. A
speedometer and tachometer fill out the dashboard, with three
additional gauges - the voltmeter, pressure gauge, and battery cell
status indicator - to give you a fuller picture of your drive. An
original Karmann badge indicates this vehicle's pedigree, and the
trunk, although small, hides a full car cover. The Car Cave team
has performed routine maintenance for this vehicle as well as
resplacing the fuel pump, throttle cable, and spark plugs and other
work totaling over $4,000. We know that we won't be able to keep
this beauty until summer, when we know this vehicle will really
shine. Straight out of the 1980's, this Volkswagen Cabriolet will
draw every eye, awe every onlooker, and will be the unforgettable
drive of your life. Upgrades and Features:1.8L Fox Engine5 Speed
