This 1932 Ford Hi-Boy custom roadster is powered by a 239ci 24-stud
Flathead V8 engine equipped with dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, a
Weiand intake manifold and Edelbrock finned aluminum heads. The
engine's output is directed through a Ford 3-speed manual
transmission and torque-tube driveline to a Halibrand quick-change
rear end. The car features custom Lake-style exhaust components
consistent with early configurations. Its chassis incorporates a
Vega-style steering box, a 4-inch dropped front axle, genuine Model
A crossmembers, reverse-eye springs and four-tube shocks. Stopping
power is provided by hydraulic Ford front drum brakes. The exterior
reflects traditional Hi-Boy construction with a 106-inch wheelbase
and components selected to match pre-1950s hot-rodding practices.
The interior is configured with period-correct simplicity, built to
align with the overall vintage theme of the car. Additional
features include its construction by the Longley father-and-son
team in Florida and its provenance from the Jack Boxstrom
Collection. The vehicle was assembled entirely using components
consistent with pre-1950s hot-rod building methods.
