The 1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Kenilworth sedan is powered by a
7.7-liter OHV inline 6-cylinder engine mated a 3-speed
selective-sliding gearbox with a single updraft Rolls-Royce
carburetor and four-wheel servo-assisted drum brakes. The chassis
is the Springfield-produced Phantom I type introduced for improved
performance and mechanical refinement. The interior retains its
original configuration, featuring a front compartment with dark
brown leather bench seating, functional instrumentation, intact
glass partition, wood trim showing age-appropriate patina and a
rear passenger compartment with original cloth upholstery, a solid
wood pull-out table and well-preserved window shade curtains.
Exterior features consist of Brewster Kenilworth coachwork with a
bare aluminum bonnet, polished grille, drum-style headlights,
refinished black coachwork with accenting beltlines and a padded
leather roof, along with mahogany running boards and brightwork
that presents in excellent condition. Additional notable items
include the original service booklet, a period-correct black
external trunk mounted on the rear luggage rack, and documentation
of the engine and gearbox rebuild performed in 1982 during the
ownership of Rodney Brown of Olympia, WA. This example is one of 35
Kenilworth sedans built by Brewster and was originally delivered to
Cleveland steel magnate William Mather. 60,355 miles (title reads
exempt). **TITLED AS 1928 ROL**
