When the Gen 1 Camaro appeared on the scene, General Motors
instantly became a major player in the pony car wars. The original
Camaro was loved by all because it was a stylish blend of
well-sculpted bodylines, distinctive accents and an abundance of
performance options. The 1969 model was the final year of that
first-generation Camaro, featuring a more aggressive exterior and a
wider stance. This fully restored 1969 Camaro SS is a handsome
example of a popular model. Based on trim tag information, this
Camaro is most likely a factory SS model.
Lemans Blue Exterior-
The professional 2-stage respray of original Lemans Blue was
applied in 2015 and is exceptional. The white SS side strips are
perfect accents and all chrome/stainless pieces are outstanding.
Appearance elements of the SS model include functional cowl
induction raised hood, front air dam/rear spoiler, fog lights,
simulated rear fender louvers, SS emblems and bright roof drip
moldings.
American Racing chrome-spoke wheels mount 17" BFGoodrich G-Force
T/A radial tires. A carefully detailed engine compartment is fitted
with chrome hood hinges, springs and latches. The fully restored
black vinyl bucket seat interior features cold 134 A/C, a full
console w/wood trim, custom Autometer gauge package, tilt wheel,
tinted windows and a raging Kenwood AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth sound system
w/500w amplifier.
383ci Stroker and 4-Speed Transmission-
Horsepower is furnished by a newer 383ci stroker-motor that has
been seriously built. The small-block is equipped with a polished
Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap single plane intake, dual feed Holley Street
Avenger (770cfm), Accel HEI ignition and mild street cam. Exhaust
is routed through Hedman headers to a stainless Pypes free-flowing
system. Cooling is managed by a HD aluminum radiator and an Optima
battery has recently been installed. This Mighty Mouse is backed by
an AutoGear M-20 4-speed manual transmission w/Hurst that sends
torque to a 12-bolt differential w/Eaton Positraction and street
gearing.
Upgraded Chassis Components-
The clean chassis features power steering, power 4-wheel disc
brakes, tubular A-arms, coil/multi-leaf springs and suspension
component upgrades. Undercarriage, frame and floor pan pieces are
all in very good condition.
This is a serious performance Camaro SS that any of us would be
proud to own.
Note: we are in the process of installing OEM style seatbelts that
will be ready for the new owner.
