This Mach 1 was built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant and delivered
new to Hornburg Ford in Oconomowoc WI.(Fun Fact, This Ford dealer
was founded in 1918) This car was relocated to California in 1973
and after decades of excellent maintenance and accident-free
living, the car was sold to the previous California owner in 2022.
LaFontaine acquired the vehicle earlier this year(2025) and was
excited to find the car still retains its original body, floor pan,
interior, numbers matching drivetrain and even rolls on original
FoMoCo wheels! The paint is said to have been refinished in the
early 2000's and the engine is said to have been rebuilt around the
same time, however the only documented work comes from recent
years. This car has many impressive attributes and has been
undeniably well maintained throughout its life.
The recent mechanical reconditioning highlights included new front
brakes, new front/rear Koni shocks, new lower control arms and
lower ball joints, fuel tank, fuel pump, sending unit, battery,
starter, alternator, water pump, thermostat, four row high
efficiency radiator, 600 CFM Holley 4bbl carb, Edelbrock Performer
intake, Pertronix solid state electronic ignition and distributor.
Many new clamps, covers, filters, hoses, etc. have also been
fitted!
The factory exhaust manifolds mate up to a new dual Flowmaster 50
series exhaust which gives this 351 Windsor the perfect note!
This is now a very strong running classic that received choice
upgrades for dependability and drivability!
Looking inside, the factory White interior is very much original
and undisturbed! The original Rim blow steering wheel houses the
factory gauge instruments, accompanied by a remote driver mirror,
factory lap and shoulder belts, a full center console, In-dash
clock, factory Philco radio, and heater controls! Some components
do show minor wear, but overall the condition is really impressive
given its age and originality.
Out back the original 9 inch Rear end spins 3.00 gears allowing
this car to roll comfortably at highway speeds just as it was
ordered new! . Additionally this car still retains its original vin
stamped fender aprons, dash displayed vin tag, door tag, trunk mat,
and even the orignal white line bias ply spare tire, jack, and
wrench! Also included with the sale is a Deluxe Marti Report, and
an Original Owners manual.
