top, 3.8 liter "Hot Rod" - "Fast Road Spec" engine, Uprated to
speed gearbox, 9,500 miles since complete photo documented, nut and
bolt restoration (completed 1997) by a Jaguar restoration
specialist. This E-type has been well-known to Autosport Designs
having been sold and service by us in the past. The following
modifications have been performed on this E-type. The engine was
removed and completely rebuilt with high compression pistons,
connecting rods, camshafts, the cylinder head was ported and
polished and the standard carburetors exchanged for a triple Weber
set up. The ignition system was upgraded to electronic type, the
original radiator has been replaced with a performance aluminum
type with auxiliary electric cooling fan, the generator was
replaced-converted to an alternator, the gearbox was converted to a
5-speed unit, the clutch assembly was replaced, the wire wheels
were replaced with new wider type to accept tubeless tires, the
brake calipers have been upgraded to Wilwood with 2-piece rotors,
all brake lines have been replaced with stainless steel type, the
steering wheel has been changed to a Moto Lita type, the seats have
been changed to 1967 type and finally modern AM/FM/CD radio with
I-pod connection has been installed. Since restoration, this E-type
has enjoyed enthusiast, collector ownerships in New York's
Hamptons, where it has been used during the driving season and
never in inclement weather. It has serviced and maintained
regardless of use and always ready for use at a moments notice.
This E-Type Roadster is exceptional in its current hot-rod status,
it would be a wonderful vintage rally contender and comes complete
with owners manual, restored factory jack, new knockoff hammer and
original tool kit and roll. Absolutely exceptional!
